Criminal Investigation Division

About

The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) conducts in depth investigations into major crimes that occur in Dubuque County. Investigators have received extensive training in crime scene processing, evidence handling, death investigations, and interview and interrogation. Among the crimes most frequently investigated by the division are sexual assaults, child and dependent adult abuse, burglary, arson, and financial crimes.

Partnerships

Investigators work closely with the Dubuque County Attorney’s Office as well as the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa in the preparation of cases for prosecution, and as such are expected to have extensive knowledge of the rules of evidence and search and seizure.

Affiliation

The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office is an affiliate of the Iowa Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (Iowa ICAC). Team
