Strategic Planning

Dubuque County Conservation

At the heart of this Master Plan is Dubuque County Conservation’s Vision of a park system that accomplishes four key strategic initiatives: Recreate, Protect, Educate, and Share. These four initiatives provide an over-arching framework for the plans for each park and trail within the county system.  They also offer a way to look at the overall strategy and recommendations for natural resource conservation across the entire system.

Dubuque County Emergency Management

The purpose of hazard mitigation is to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property from hazards. Dubuque County and participating jurisdictions developed this multi-jurisdictional local hazard mitigation plan update to reduce future losses to the County and its communities as a result of hazard events. The plan was prepared pursuant to the requirements of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 and to achieve eligibility for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Assistance Grant Programs.

Dubuque County Health

Every three to five years, local health boards lead a discussion regarding public health issues in the community. This discussion, done in partnership with health care providers and community partners, seeks to involve residents, business owners, and community stakeholders.
